nysRI, nysRII and nysRIIIは、Streptomyces sp. SA-COOのcholesterol oxidase-cytochrome P450 operonの近くにあるtranscriptional regulatorsに相同である。

regulatory genes候補の不活化mutantにおいて、nystatin gene cluster内にあるputative promoter regionsの調節下に置いたxylE reporter gene活性を測定。不活化mutantのCross-complementation experiments。

nysRIII mutantは、nysRII自身で98%まで、nysRIVで87%まで相補できる。
nysRI, II, IIIがないとnysRIV promoterには作用がない。
NysRI, II, III IVは効率的なnystatin産生のために不可欠である。
