pltR: transcriptional regulator @pathway-specific regulator

pyoluteorin biosynthesis genes pltB, pltE, and pltFの転写は、pltR mutantでより、wildでのほうが明らかに良い。従って、PltRはリンクしたpyoluteorin合成遺伝子のtranscriptional activatorである。

pltRの無発現mutant M18TRGはPyoluteorin産生が30%まで減少。
相補でwild-type M18におけるレベルに回復。
pltRの過剰発現は、wild-type M18の13倍のPlt産生を導いた。
PCA (Phenazine-1-carboxylic acid)産生は変化なし。
よってPltRがPlt産生においてpositive regulatorであることが示唆される。

また、mutant M18TRGにおけるPlt-lacZ transcriptional fusionの発現はwild-type M18と比べて明らかに減少し、PltRが転写レベルでPlt生合成遺伝子の発現を調節しうることがさらに証明された。

PltR proteinは不可欠なbinding motif "lys box"としてpltLp領域へ直接的に結合し、pltLpが操縦するplt operon発現を転写活性する。
