figの様子を見る限り、ORF G = rapG

rapH and rapGの遺伝子産物はそれぞれ、LAL(large ATP-binding regulators of the LuxR family) and AraCという2つの異なるfamilyのranscriptional activatorsと類似性を示す。どちらかの遺伝子の過剰発現はrapamycin生合成においてかなりの増加をもたらし、両者の削除は抗生物質産生を完全に失う。相補実験から、rapamycin生合成のためにRapG regulatorは必須であり、RapH regulatorは支持的であることが示された。rapamycin PKSのpromoterでのrapH and rapG遺伝子産物の直接的効果はreporter systemとしてchalcone synthase gene rppAを使うことが観察された。
