DrrCはDNAの除去修復に関連するE.coli_UvrAに強いAA配列類似あり。
S.lividansへのdrrC導入はdaunorubicin (DNR)抵抗性を与える。
DNR and doxorubicin (DXR) antiporterによって抵抗性をもたらすDrrABのシステムと異なり、たぶんゲノムDNAへのDNR and DXRの結合を抑制または不安定化をしうる。

E.coliで発現して得たDrrCは、ATPとDNRの存在下でのみ、DNR産生遺伝子のpromoter領域を含むDNA segmentを結合。
S.peucetiusにおけるDrrCの出現はDNR産生の開始と同時に起こり、drrC geneはDNRによって誘導される。
DnrN and DnrI regulatory proteinsはdrrC発現のために必要。
DrrAは、DrrCと同じ様式で調節された。

細胞内DNR濃度が上昇したときに、DNR biosynthetic genes and resistance genesのactivatorであるDnrIのpromoter領域へfeedback阻害のために結合したDNR(本来はDnrNが結合)を、再活性化のために離すことに関連しているのではないかと言っている。
