fdmC-fdmT3のfragmentをS.albusへ導入し、FDM-A産生に十分であることを確認している。

メインはSARP-type activator_FdmR1の機能解析。

fdmR2はputative SARP binding site-containing promotersの下流にある。
fdmR1不活化mutantでfdmR2転写物は減少するので、FdmR1によって少なくとも部分的に調節され、他のregulatorsによって活性化されるかもしれない。

fdm生合成gene clusterの場合、FdmR1は直接的に生合成遺伝子を活性化し、部分的にputative repressor geneであるfdmR2を調節する。FdmR2はFDMsの毒性レベルの蓄積を避けるためfeedback controlとして働くかもしれない。
