lipReg1挿入変異株ではalpha-lipomycinの生産が野生株と比較して低くなること、この変異株にlipReg1を相補するとalpha-lipomycinの生産が回復することが示されている。

さらに、lipReg1変異株ではlipReg2, lipReg3, lipReg5の転写は野生株と変わらないが、lipReg4の発現が低くなることが示されている。また同様に、lipReg2変異株ではlipReg1, lipReg3, lipReg5の転写は野生株と変わらないが、lipReg4の発現が低くなることより、二成分制御系lipReg1, lipReg2によって、lipReg4の転写が調節されることが示唆されている。
