Alteromonas sp. strain O-7由来alkaline serine protease (AprII; subtilase)のクローニング。N-terminal pro-regionはchaperone-like activityの維持にcriticalな役割をしているかもしれないと推測している。

[PMID:10966390] 上記論文をref.に使用。
AprII産物はiron-rich conditionsで著しく抑制されるserine proteaseであることを示した。AprIIはmarine environmentでの鉄獲得システムに重要な役割をはたす。
AprII biosynthesisはiron-depleted conditionsで活性化し、AprIIの蛋白質分解によってmetalloproteinsから鉄をリリースすると予測している。
