chmHI(420a.a.): P450; C20 hydroxylase

chmHI 自体の機能実験は行われていないが、TylHIとの相同性よりP450として、chmHIIにエンコードされているferredoxinと共にmacrolactoneのC-20のhydroxylationに関与するとしている。

tylosin PKSは不活化されているがPKS後修飾genesは保存のあるS.fradiae由来株で、chalcomycinとspiramycinのPKS hybridを発現して得た化合物はC-4にmethoxy基あり。これがあると、C-14のmethyl基をhydroxylationするTylHの働きが非効率。しかし、TylH homologであるChmHは効率的なhydroxylationをもたらすことができる。

Streptomyces sp. A-1544にpladienolide B 16-hydroxylaseをエンコードするpsmAを過剰発現させると、pladienolide B より pladienolide Dへの変換が15倍高くなることを示している。また、この変換にはpsmAの下流のferredoxinをエンコードするpsmBの産物が必要であることが示されている。
