geldanamycin生合成clusterにあるpositive regulators GdmRI and GdmRII に関する報告。

gdmRI, gdmRII のいずれか一方の欠損株ではgeldanamycinの生産が完全に消失し、欠損した遺伝子をプラスミドで相補すると geldanamycin生産が回復する。

2つの遺伝子の転写は独立に行われ互いを制御していないこと、2つの遺伝子の転写はpolyketide骨格生合成に関与する遺伝子(pks, gdmF, gdnA-O-P)とは協調するが、PKS後修飾遺伝子であるgdmNとは協調していないことも示されている。

よって、gdmRI と gdmRII はgeldanamycin生合成経路におけるpolyketide生合成遺伝子に特異的なpositive regulatorsであると結論付けている。
