Streptomyces collinusよりcrotonyl-CoA reductaseを精製し、諸性質を調べている。(ホモダイマーであること、crotonyl-CoA, short-chain-length (C4), enoyl-CoA compoundに対して高い基質特異性を示す一方で、shorter-chain-length (C3), enoyl-CoA thioester, acryloyl-CoAに対しては活性を示さない。)

また、crotonyl-CoA reductase遺伝子をクローニングしてE. coliで発現させて精製し、活性を確認している。
