jadomycin生合成におけるB環開環反応を担う酵素としてJadGを同定。
dehydrorabelomycin → jadomycin Aへの変換におけるcofactorとしてFMNH(2) or FADH(2)を必要とする。cofactorsは、clusterに位置しているflavin reductase JadYまたはEscherichia coli Freのどちらかにによって供給されうる。

JadYは、NAD(P)H-dependent FMN/FAD reductaseとして特徴づけられた。好ましい基質はFMNである。
jadY破壊mutantでもjadomycinが産生されたので、jadYの機能はホストで他の酵素によって置換されうる。
