naphthoyl-S-NcsBからenediyne coreへnaphthoyl moietyの付着を触媒する候補であるとしている。

NcsB2の機能解析の報告

本論文にて、naphthoic acid moietyの生合成経路がreviseされている。また、orf27をNcsB4と改名している。

in vivo, in vitroでNcsB2の機能解析をしている。
CoA ligase活性をATP-[32P]pyrophosphate exchange assay、および、Coenzyme A arylation assayを確認している。また、酵素反応速度論的解析から、ncsB2は最適基質を2-hydroxy-7-methoxy-5-methyl-1-naphthoic acidであると同定している。Kcat/Km値は低くなるが2-hydroxy-5-methyl-1-naphthoic acidや2,7-dihydroxy-5-methyl-1-naphthoic acidも活性化した。
