精製されたrecombinant MonCII は、monensin AのN-acetylcysteamine thioester derivativeを含むいくつかのthioester基質を加水分解する。
phenylmethanesulfonyl fluorideのような酵素のhallmark inhibitorとのincubationは、thioesterase活性の抑制と、MonCII のacylated formの蓄積を導く。
