OvmK: ketoacyl synthase beta

特徴的なCys174 and Gln166を保存している。
ovmP, ovmK, ovmSはtype II minimal PKSをコードする。
starter acetyl-CoAとmalonyl-CoA 9つからdecaketideを合成する。

ovmK deletion mutantはoviedomycin非産生。
このmutantにおいて気菌糸、胞子形成には影響がなかった。
よってS. antibioticusにおけるoviedomycin産生と細胞分化の間の直接的関係が除外された。

ORF2-ORF4領域を含んだplasmidの染色体DNAへの組み込みは、jadomycin B産生を激しく抑制したが、成長や胞子色素沈着には影響なし。
