streptolydigin生合成gene clusterの報告。

上流ORFの挿入変異株の解析より、本ORFはstreptolydigin生産に関与する領域に含まれることが示されている。

SlgE1, SlgE2, SlgE3は、NRPSの基質であるbeta-methylaspartic acidの生合成に関与すると考えられ、SlgE3は、一次代謝で誘導された2-oxoglutarateとglutamineからglutamic acidを特異的に供給していると示唆。SlgE3の酵素学的な実験はされていない。

SlgE3はglutamine と2-oxoglutarateからglutamateの生合成を行うferredoxin-dependent glutamatesynthase。
slgE3 不活性化株、slgE3過剰発現株を作製し、glutamic acidの供給による抗生物質生産にferredoxin-dependent glutamatesynthase SlgE3は関与すると示した。不活性化株へのslgE3の導入で合成能が回復した事を見ている。
また、slgE3 delete株において生存率にslgE3の欠如が影響しなかったことから、SlgE3の他にchromosome中に存在する3つのhousekeeping glutamatesynthase genesが一次代謝に関与していると示唆した。
