Putative transmembrane protein

putative Hygromycin A(HA) transporter genes hyg19, hyg28と short-chain dehydrogenase gene hyg26の機能解析報告。

putative proton gradient-dependent transporterをコードするhyg19の不活性化で、HAの菌体外排出量が1/3に減り、5''-dihydrohygromycin Aの菌体外排出量は増えたことから、HAの効率的かつ選択的な生合成はHyg19に依存すると考察している。

また、mutantsを用いたMICs測定により、hyg19あるいはhyg28によってself-resistanceは完全には与えられないが、hyg19とhyg21によるself-resistanceでの相乗的な役割が暗示されている。

Hyg19が主要なHA transporterであり、Hyg19がないときにはHA選択性の低いABC transporter Hyg28が排出を代替すると考えられている。
