  *Autoclave separately as 20% solution, and added to other autoclaved ingredients.
  For solid medium, equal volumes of separately autoclaved double-strength liquid medium (pH 3.5) and 1.6% Gelrite (Kelco, Division of Merck & Co, Inc.) were mixed, after cooling to 50℃.
