この株はaklanonic acid → aklanonic acid methylester(AAME)の変換ができる。
この変換でできた産物をdpsB(-)mutantに加えると、RHOへ変換可能。よって正しい中間体。

これらの演繹は、相同なStreptomyces sp. strain C5 dauC geneの機能と完全に一致する。
