type II PKS clusterに見られるaromatasesよりC末が130aa長く、この部分は機能不明なDpsH(DnmW)にid44%あり。
Akn clusterには他にDpsH homologueあり(AknV)。
AknE1と同じように長いタイプのaromoataseもS.purpurascensのrhodomycin clusterにある(rdmK)。
