AknY: Glucose-1-phosphate thymidylyltransferas

AknX, Y, Zは糖残基の生合成に関連付けられる。

glycosyltransferase (aknS), aminomethylase (aknX), glucose-1-phosphate thymidylyltransferase (aknY) とunidentified glycosylation functions (aknT and aknV)を含むplasmid pSgs4は、aklavinoneを蓄積するS. galilaeus mutants H063と、rhodinose and deoxyfucose residuesを持つaklavinoneを産生するH054でaclacinomycinsの産生を回復。

ε-rhodomycinone(RHO)を蓄積するS. peucetius mutants M18におけるpSgs4の導入は、
RHO, L-rhamnosyl-RHO, L-daunosaminyl-RHO をもたらす。
glycosyltransferasesに欠損がないRHO蓄積S. peucetius mutants M90へのpSgs4の導入は、
RHO と L-rhamnosyl-RHO をもたらす。

また、aknW, aknX2, aknYとC末を欠いたaknZを含むpSgs44は、H054とH065 mutantを部分的に相補する。

AknY: dTDP-glucose 1-synthase

糖部分を持たないaklavinoneを蓄積するmutatn H063では、aknYによってコードされるdTDP-glucose synthaseにAA置換が起こっている。
mutant H063でPCRで増幅したaknYを発現させると変異は相補された。
