アミノ酸配列はNa+/H+ transporterのクラスに属した。また、Na(+)に対して高い耐性を示すが、他のtoxic cationsあるいはstress factorsには耐性を示さないことを確認している。しかし、機能を同定するにはまだ実験が不十分であるとも言っている。現時点ではputative Na+ transporter。
