Kirromycin生合成遺伝子クラスタ-の他のmoduleではAT domainが欠損しているが、KirAVIはclassical cis-AT-type organizationを保存している。

KirAVIは、kirromycin precursorにmethylmalonyl-CoAとmalonyl-CoAの伸長ユニットを付着させ、pyridone moietyの形成の一部を担うと予測している。
