barB機能解析の報告

barB欠損株作製し、機能同定、virginiae butanolide-BarA signaling cascadeに関与する遺伝子の発現の変化を見ている。

virginiamycin生合成のvirginiamycin 生産の初期過程で働くnegative regulatorだと推定している。

barB欠損株は、細胞分化とvirginiae butanolide生合成どちらにも関与しない。
また、barB欠損株においてvirginiamycin M1とvirginiamycin Sの生産はvirginiae butanolide生産後に行われ、WTよりも2-3h早かったことから、virginiae butanolideがBarAのrepressor機能を不活性化した後に、BarBはvirginiamycin生産の経時的な遅延に関与すると示唆。
RT-PCRの解析結果から、barBの転写はbarAにより抑制され、barBは上流のbarZ, vmsR, orf5の転写をdirectly or indirectlyにnegative制御すると考察。
