varR機能解析の報告

VarR: transcriptional protein(TetR-type repressor)

大腸菌にて発現させたリコンビナント酵素との比較により機能解析している。

varRは virginiamycin S生産が開始するまでvarSのプロモーター領域に結合することによりvarS-varR operonの転写を抑制し、virginiamycin S生産が開始されるとvarSのプロモーター領域からvarRの解離が起こり抑制が軽減されると推測した。

varRの転写はvarSとcotranscribedに行われ(varS-varR operon)、Virginiamycin Sはこのbicistronic transcriptionのinducerとして働く。
