mdpA1: dTDP-1-glucose synthase

Maduropeptin生合成遺伝子クラスターは、遺伝子産物の推定機能よりmdpA1からmdpE2までとしている。このORFについて機能解析はしていない。

mdpA1はD-glucose-1-phosphateから始まる5つの酵素反応で形成されるaminosugarの生合成に関与するとしている。

精製酵素はalpha-d-glucopyranosyl-1-phosphate thymidylyltransferaseとして特徴付けられ、sgcA1の過剰発現株はC-1027の生産量が向上した。
