orf16 mutantはrifamycins SV and Bの混合物を産生するので、orf16はglycolate side chainのformation and/or attachmentにある程度は関連するのかもしれない。

rifamycins SV and Bの違いは、ナフタレン環部分のhydroxyl基でのglycolate置換。
