The National Institute of Technology and Evaluation (NITE) held a press briefing on the prevention of accidents due to aging deterioration of fans and air conditioners.

Summary:
The Product Safety Technology Center conducted a promotion of consumers’ awareness for prevention of fire accidents due to aging deterioration of fans and vent fans on June 17th, however, after that, there was a fire accident that was supposedly due to such fan. In addition, there have been many fire accidents which are supposedly due to aging deterioration of air conditioners. Regarding fans, it’s believed that there is concentration of occurrence of accidents due to aging deterioration yet after the promotion of consumers’ awareness, and it’s the same with air conditioners as there have been many accidents supposedly due to aging deterioration. In order to prevent such accidents, NITE decided to conduct a promotion of consumers’ awareness on abnormal actions and etc along with aging deterioration.
