ABS Measures
Japan became a Party to the Nagoya Protocol on August 20, 2017. The “Guidelines on Access to Genetic Resources and the Fair and Equitable Sharing of Benefits Arising from Their Utilization” (ABS Guidelines) entered into force on the same day to implement the Protocol in Japan.
NBRC has been sharing knowledge and information on Access and Benefit-Sharing (ABS) measures of various countries/regions with Japanese users to support their lawful access and appropriate utilization of genetic resources.
